Instead of using food for developer, I bought cheap chemicals from Arista but used food containers for trays! (and food tongs/measuring cup). When you can make your own photo paper, let us know! I was also disappointed not to see your final print in room light... did I miss something? I'd really like to know how it all worked out!
Is the salt water fixer long lasting? Can you use rapid fix when developed with cafenol? And does it need to be “instant” coffee?
Any examples of prints?
Salt water fix is long lasting but takes a long time; rapid fix is much easier but this project was trying to use all things easily found in a grocery store. And yes, it must be instant coffee crystals. 😉
очень хорошее оборудование.
Yes, our school darkroom is well equipped. :)
@@judithmonroeart я печатаю в ванной. температуру для цветной печати поддерживаю путём включения тепловентилятора . жарковато конечно , но работает.
Absolutely spot on. I set up a darkroom in my spare bedroom and had the same issue when it came to darkening my room, after lot`s of trial and error i came up with the same idea, i take the plastic sheet down after every session, it`s no bother and the cost of a reel of masking tape is negligible. I`m with you on the safe light , I see so many darkrooms light up like the Blackpool illuminations!, I only have one myself and it`s nowhere near my enlarger and wet area, i just allow my eyes to adjust, also reduce the chance of fogging my paper.
Glad to know I’m not the only one who decided on this method. :)
What paper ur using for contact printing?
Ilford multi grade RC
This dog has taste.Owner should listen.
😆😆

Admirable mujer manejando un camión felicidades ❤
Thanks, she’s my daughter. 👍🏻
that is not a digital photogram :D
What would you call it?
it's on a digital device (phone) and this would likely work for digital cameras too
@@layne7211 it's a simple photo with light behind, and the postproduction make it look like a photogram. that's it, it's not a digital photogram.it was, if she would have used a digital sensor
@@judithmonroeart it's a photo with a postproduction which makes it look like a photogram. digital photogram would be if u used a sensor
You would get the same effect as a photogram if the object was on the other side of the sheet (opposite side of the camera, same side as the light). Essentially capturing just the shadow.
Do we know what he is looking for, or just likes to dig? Very cute pup 🐶
She’s looking for field mice…
Is it just me, or do others think tubeless wheel rims look wrong on vintage vehicles?
Hey, I just made the video of my daughter driving… 😄
Hi Judith. This is the perfect dark room for a small home. Good Job. 👍😎

Thank you! 😊
As an ex London Transport bus mechanic, I knew this bus type very well. At age 16, I was engaged as an engineering garage trainee based at Poplar garage in London's East end.(November 1st 1971) The men who trained me were ex armed forces, and they were all very knowledgeable. One particular man who helped with my training was Alf 'Alfie' Finnis. Alf had been an ex Trolley bus man, however this type of vehicle had been decommissioned, because of the introduction of the new diesel Routemaster bus in 1959. Now at age 68, I can recall speaking with many skilled hands who could repair any vehicle no matter what the job. Sadly Poplar garage was closed in November 1985, soon to become high rise apartments building project. As for my old workmates, I should think many of them are long gone. I do have my memories though, and I wish I could travel back in time and do my training all over again. Thank you for posting your film, you've mad a happy man very old.💐👍
I am so glad that you were able to take a pleasant trip down memory lane!
When and where is this? Not in UK ! 😅
2017, Davis, CA.
Why don't you fix your testprint and look at it in normal light before making next copy? This is wery interesting and i will try it. =)
This was while teaching during Covid lockdown and I was working with the limitation of no commercial chemicals and only using what could easily be found and mixed at grocery stores. Salt fixer was the only thing that worked and it took 72 hours to fix.
That engine sounds horrible what is it? has bus been converted to auto, i didn't see any gearchanging.
Yep, and no idea. 😉
Niiiiiiiiice!!! ❤ I can’t believe it was about a year ago since I was there painting…
Thanks! Miss you 🧡🧡
@@judithmonroeart miss you too 😘
hi
Hi 😊
She looks too young to drive aswell as being very pretty more like a model 😁😁😁😁😁 But, she handle that bus quite well. What happened to that bus ? It wasn't scrapped or destroyed in some other way was it 🙄😯😮 It be such a right shame & DESPICABLE!!!! to do such a HORRIBLE!!! thing to it.
It’s been a few years but I’m guessing they are still using those buses, as it was a point of pride.
Poor Big Mama with 5 babies the one under her belly had the toughest ride🐾🌹
I know, right?! 🧡
She's beautiful. Good mamma ❤
she really is 🧡
Awwww so cute
Thanks
Yes the r t had a bell housing up front that as a 60s kid with cold feet was a warm spot to put your feet on ( fluid fly wheel) you did not get this on the r l bless it 👍
Thanks for the info
You’re a NATURAL😉
😁
SHEs SO CUTEEE
We certainly think so 🥰
This is horribly slow
Some folks need slow. 😉
Very nice, thank you 😊❤️
You’re welcome 😊
I watched it while being high. It was awesome
😆😂
did you fix the images afterwards?
Not here. Fixing will somewhat change the images but it will make them stable.
Is the paper for black and white or color?? Which should I specifically buy?
This is paper for black and white, but I’m pretty sure you can do this with color paper, too.
Would this on turmeric sun print paper?
This is regular silver gelatin photographic paper like we use in a darkroom. The exposure time for sun print paper (cyanotype) would be extremely long.
Hi! How much time have you found it takes for the Lumen to change. I don't have a photo scanner and need to consider transport time to somewhere like FedEx...etc. How does this paper change from the time its removed from package (in the dark) to time its put in the folder before objects are laid?
If you keep it in a dark envelope, it should be okay for at least a few days. Hope that helps!
Lovely!!
Thank you! 😊
Great video and tutorial!
Glad you liked it!
Excellent!
Thanks! We’ll see at what point we post updates…
Can I use inform resin coated paper not silver gelatin paper?
Hi! Your resin coated photo paper IS a silver gelatin paper. That just means that the part of your paper that is light sensitive is a very thin layer of gelatin that has silver salts embedded in it, also known as traditional darkroom paper. You can use the RC papers or fiber based, whatever you have handy. :)
Why not use your tablet as a light table?
You certainly could, but not everyone has that ability. ;)
Wonderful Judith, I am delighted to be part of your art family and it’s my pleasure to encourage you to share your gifts with all of us and all of our friends 6/27/23 8pm 🙏❣️
Thank you so much!

thanks :)
